After you have completed your order, our vendor (Paypal) sends us a receipt. Please note that it might take some time before this receipt arrives. Your hosting account will be created immediately after we receive the payment confirmation from our vendor. After the account is created, you will be sent a welcome e-mail with all the login information that you need for your account. Back to top ▲ When is my account manageable? Once you receive the welcome e-mail, you are ready to login and manage your account, including building web sites, installing scripts, uploading files, creating e-mail accounts and FTP accounts, etc. Back to top ▲ Do I have to register my domain with fweb? You are not required to register your domain with fweb. You could have another Registrar register the domain and have only your DNS setting pointing to our servers, where your account is hosted. Back to top ▲ How can I have my existing domain name hosted by fweb? We can host a web site with a domain name that you have already registered. Please type your domain name in the order form, and then select the "I already own this domain” option. After completing the ordering procedure and receiving the Welcome letter, you will be able to change the DNS servers, so your domain name points to your new fweb account. Normally it takes up to 48 hours for the domain name to resolve to your account. Back to top ▲ Can I host more than one domain per account? You can host more than one domain on your account. You have two ways to do that depending on your objectives: Addon Domain Our basic plan provides for a single web site to be hosted on each account. If you are willing to have more than one unique web site hosted on the same account, you need to purchase an upgrade that is called "Addon domain". The addon domain has two components: an addon slot and a domain name. Each addon slot allows for a single additional web site to be hosted on your fweb account. You can order an addon slot that costs 30€ per year. Please note that addon slots price does not include the domain name itself. If you need domain names please order them separately. Domain Parking In case you wish that another domain name pointed to your main web site, that can be done for free. It is called Domain Parking. The parking is a great way to increase your web site visibility. You can have UNLIMITED number of parked domains with our plan. Please note that you can have e-mail addresses on the parked domains as well. If you already own the domain name you can point it at our servers, therefore anybody using that domain name will automatically be redirected to your primary domain name. The main difference between the addon domain and the parked domain is that the addon domain allows you to host more than one web site on your account, while the parked domain is pointed to the main web site on the account. Back to top ▲ What control panel do you offer? Yes, we do offer a control panel for your account that is called cPanel. The cPanel is a very user-friendly tool with plenty of features. With its help you could create E-mail accounts for your domain, addon and parked domains, databases, files, folders and directories for your account. The bandwidth offered with our basic hosting plan is 900 GB monthly (You are VERY Un-lightly to exceed this for many many years if at all. There is enough bandwidth for millions of customer per month). If you are approaching you band width usage then it would be time to look at a virtual private server of you own, we would contact you well before you have any problems with you band width. When the current monthly bandwidth usage is more than 80% of your quota, you will receive an automatic notification. You might have to consider ordering a bandwidth upgrade or a VPS after you receive this warning. We do not impose any restrictions on how much of your bandwidth you can use during a certain fraction of each month – thus we can accommodate increase of traffic to your web site Back to top ▲ What do I need in order to create my web site with your Site Builder? To build your web site with our free Site Builder, you need to purchase a fweb hosting account and use Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher version. It is preferable to have Security and Privacy settings at the default Medium level. Using those settings will help you avoid any problems logging in and loading the pages of the Site Builder. Back to top ▲ How can I get an SSL Certificate for my account? Using our basic hosting package offers you a secure connection with a shared SSL certificate. A separate certificate can be installed for your web site only if you are willing to have one. This way your visitors will also avoid any security warnings, shown by their browsers. Back to top Can I use my own SSL Certificate that is not purchased from fweb? You can use SSL certificates that were purchased elsewhere on your fweb accounts. In order to use it with your fweb account, you need to have a dedicated IP that you can order from fweb for 30€/year and pay an installation fee of 30€ for the Support team to install it on our server. Back to top Do you offer free scripts with the hosting account? There is a number of scripts that you can have for free with your account. They can be easily installed through the Fantastico installer in just a couple of clicks. You can find the Fantastico feature in the cPanel main page – just look for the smiling face icon at the bottom of the page. Back to top ▲ Do you offer media streaming? fweb allows media streaming from its servers for file formats that allow playing them with just part of the file being downloaded to the computer (such as mp3's, real media, and so on). Other formats, which require special software to be streamed, are not supported as we do not provide such software. We request that users refrain from setting up on-site MP3 players, etc. Back to top ▲ Do you offer adult content hosting? We do not offer hosting for adult content web sites. Please refer to the fweb Terms Of Use. Please note that if any materials that are within the mentioned categories are found on your account, your account will be suspended until you agree to remove the files. Back to top ▲ Can I upload my own CGI and Perl scripts? Users can upload and use CGI, Perl and Python scripts of their own in the CGI-BIN directory. You do not need to install anything on your own personal computer. Everything that regards the functionality of your account is or can be installed on the server.
